KATSEYE’s “Bel Air” is a dreamy pop song about desire, attraction, and escaping into a glamorous fantasy. Using images of luxury, late-night city lights, and romance, the lyrics capture the excitement of chasing love and freedom. The song blends confidence, longing, and youthful ambition, creating an atmosphere that feels both intimate and cinematic.
Bel Air Lyrics
[Verse 1: Megan, Yoonchae]
I saw you in the mirror
Been stuck inside my mind since Saturday
Can’t get you off my radar
My head is spinning, time in retrograde
Still falling for you, still running from you
If we could just rewind us for a day
I’d drive you up to Bel Air
We wouldn’t be the ones who got away
[Pre-Chorus: Daniela]
Stood and watched your car leaving
Struck by silver ’til you were out of sight
I could feel my heart bleeding
Thought you’d be the death of me, but
[Chorus: Lara, Sophia]
When you were mine
We said we’d run away
Away from here, and disappear
We’d leave it all behind
When you were mine
You gave me paradise
Then took the key, now, look at me
I’m leaving you behind
[Verse 2: Yoonchae, Megan]
My eyes are getting hazy
I hear you whisper words into my ears
I’m on the edge of crazy
Letting my pillow kiss away my tears
Still falling for ya, still running from ya
But I know what we’d do if you were here
I’d drive you up to Bel Air
Pretend we could survive another year
[Chorus: Lara, Sophia]
When you were mine
We said we’d run away
Away from here, and disappear
We’d leave it all behind
When you were mine
You gave me paradise
Then took the key, now, look at me
I’m leaving you behind
[Bridge: Megan]
Oh-oh, oh-oh
Oh-oh, oh, oh-oh, oh, oh
Oh-oh, oh-oh
Oh-oh, oh, oh-oh, oh, oh (Ah, ah, ah)
[Chorus: Lara, Sophia]
When you were mine
We said we’d run away
Away from here, and disappear
We’d leave it all behind
When you were mine
You gave me paradise
Then took the key, now, look at me
I’m leaving you behind

Song Bio of Bel Air Lyrics – KATSEYE
Some songs take over a decade to find their voice. “Bel Air” is one of them. Tucked into KATSEYE’s third EP, WILD, released August 14, 2026, the track carries a backstory almost as compelling as the song itself: it was written by Charli XCX and longtime collaborator Noonie Bao back in December 2013, originally shaped for a deluxe edition of Charli’s Sucker album before being shelved. The song resurfaced in 2015 for a reworking credited to John Hill and Patrik Berger, with Sophie rumored to have had a hand in it too, yet it never made it to release — until KATSEYE picked it up more than a decade later.
Now the fourth track on WILD, “Bel Air” finds Sophia, Daniela, Lara, Megan, and Yoonchae leaning into the song’s aching, cinematic yearning, trading verses about a love that slipped away and the fantasy of chasing it back. Manon, currently on hiatus, sits this one out. The track lands amid a run of WILD releases that includes the Ed Sheeran co-write “Animal” and lead single “Pinky Up,” part of the group’s HYBE and Geffen-backed rise since their 2023 formation.
