The West Coast veteran’s new 15-track project arrives with a stacked guest list — and some hard-earned advice from Kendrick Lamar.
YG is back with THE GENTLEMEN’S CLUB, his seventh studio album and first full project since 2022’s I GOT ISSUES. The new release marks a shift in approach for the Compton rapper, one he credits directly to a conversation with fellow West Coast artist Kendrick Lamar.
In a recent interview with DJ Hed, YG explained that earlier projects had sometimes been rushed out as a way to satisfy label obligations during a difficult contract period. Lamar, after hearing the new album, pushed back on that mentality — telling YG that every project deserves full commitment, regardless of the business pressures behind it. That conversation, YG says, shaped the intensity and care behind this new record.
The 15-track album brings together a notable list of collaborators, including Pusha T, Tyler, The Creator, PayGotti, JID, Ab-Soul, Isaiah Falls, and Shoreline Mafia — a mix that spans coasts and generations of hip-hop.

About the Album
With guest features spanning Pusha T’s East Coast pedigree, Tyler, The Creator’s genre-bending unpredictability, and rising voices like Isaiah Falls and Shoreline Mafia, THE GENTLEMEN’S CLUB positions itself as one of YG’s most ambitious rollouts in years. Track titles like “MID LIFE CRISIS” and “WRITING MY WRONGS” suggest a more reflective YG than fans have heard on recent releases — an artist taking stock rather than simply running up the score.
