Young Thug is finally coming back to the road, and he’s not coming alone.
The Atlanta rapper announced The New Generation Tour on Monday, a sprawling North American and European trek that marks his first headlining run since 2019. It’s also his first full tour since walking free from jail in late 2024, following the conclusion of the sprawling YSL RICO case that kept him locked up for more than two years. Since his release, Thug has mostly stuck to one-off shows and festival slots, including a well-received sub-headlining set at Coachella earlier this year. This fall, he’s going all in.
Presented by his own label, Young Stoner Life Records, the tour doubles as a coming-out party for the imprint’s next wave of talent. Thug will share the stage with seven YSL signees: Tezzus, 1300SAINT, Iyrus, YUME, Biggs, Unky, and Diamond*, giving fans across the country a first real look at the artists set to carry the label’s sound forward. Rapper and longtime collaborator NAV will join as special guest on every U.S. date, an extension of a partnership that stretches back years and most recently produced the track “Trimski.”
The New Generation Tour kicks off September 1 at Walmart AMP in Rogers, Arkansas, then cuts through the Midwest with stops in Minneapolis and Chicago before swinging east for shows in Boston, New York, and Washington, D.C. From there, the route heads south through the Carolinas and Thug’s home turf of Atlanta, then west across Texas and into the Southwest, wrapping the U.S. leg on October 4 at YouTube Theatre in Inglewood, California. After a short break, the tour crosses the Atlantic for four European dates, opening October 14 in Amsterdam and closing out October 24 at Adidas Arena in Paris.
Tickets go live in stages. A Spotify Reserved presale opens Tuesday, July 14, at 12 p.m. local time, followed by an artist presale on Wednesday, July 15, at 10 a.m. local time. Additional presales are expected to roll out over the following days before the general on-sale begins Friday, July 17, at 10 a.m. local time through Ticketmaster, Live Nation, and the tour’s official site, newgenerationlive.com.
The timing lines up with a stretch of noticeable momentum for Thug. His set at Coachella this spring reminded festival crowds why he built his reputation as one of hip-hop’s most unpredictable and influential voices, mixing deep cuts with the kind of guest-heavy chaos that’s become his live-show signature. There was also brief buzz around a new album called DBC, short for Day Before Coachella, which would have kept alive his recent habit of dropping a project every year. Thug released Business Is Business in 2023, followed by both Slime Season and Slime Season 2 in 2024 and UY SCUTI in 2025. DBC, however, appeared to quietly fall off the release calendar once the festival came and went, leaving fans to wonder whether it’s shelved for good or simply delayed.
More than a decade into his career, Thug remains one of the genre’s most consistently boundary-pushing figures, with a run of chart-topping albums, three No. 1 singles, and more than 30 RIAA gold and platinum certifications to his name. His influence on modern rap’s cadence, slang, and sound is still visible in nearly every corner of the genre, which makes this tour as much a statement of longevity as it is a comeback.
For now, the spotlight is shared. Diamond* recently linked with Thug on her own project, Bling Slime Vol. 1, and a YSL compilation album is reportedly in the works alongside a steady stream of new material from the label’s roster throughout the year. The New Generation Tour gives all of it a stage, literally, putting Thug’s next class of artists in front of arena-sized crowds while he reclaims his own spot at the top of the bill.
