The much-awaited soundtrack features a diverse range of artists, from Ice Spice to Ryan Gosling.

The wait is finally over, as today marks the release of the highly anticipated summer film, "Barbie," directed by Greta Gerwig, along with its star-studded soundtrack, "Barbie The Album." Among the tracks on the LP are six previously released singles, including hits like Dua Lipa's "Dance the Night," Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice's "Barbie World," and Billie Eilish's "What Was I Made For?"

The spotlight in "Barbie The Album" also shines on other superstars such as Lizzo, Tame Impala, The Kid LAROI, Khalid, HAIM, and Fifty Fifty. The soundtrack was expertly curated by Mark Ronson, who collaborated with Gerwig early on to create a "dream list" of artists they wanted to be part of the project. The list included talented musicians like Charli XCX and, of course, Nicki Minaj. Each artist chosen for the soundtrack was given the opportunity to watch 20 minutes of the film to grasp its tone and storyline, and then they were left to draw their inspiration from it independently.

Ronson shared with TIME that many artists were drawn to this film because of Greta Gerwig's involvement and the tremendous buzz surrounding it. Personal connections to Barbie were revealed by artists like KAROL G and the Haim sisters, making the project all the more significant to them.
